Dr Ulumma Vivian Obiodu was a talented medical doctor, with a lifelong passion to inspire and encourage girls to achieve their dreams. Her charming smile, calm demeanor, immense generosity and jovial conviviality were remarkable. She lived her life being excellent, different and unique.
Ulumma Vivian was born in Owerri as the third of five children in the family of Sabbas & Rachel Chukwu of Ogbor Ugiri in Isiala Mbano LGA, Imo State, Nigeria. After graduating as the best student from Owerri Girls Secondary School in 1999 (9 As; 4 A1s), she won a scholarship to study medicine and graduated from Rostov State Medical University Russia in 2006. She married Chukwuemeka Obiodu at Christ the King Cathedral Aba Nigeria on 10 February 2007.
Dr Vivian lived her dream and was due to finish her training as a GP doctor in Bedfordshire UK in August 2016. She was also due to complete her MSc in Musculoskeletal Sciences at University College London (UCL) in August 2016. She passed away on 24 May 2016 at Addenbrooke's Cambridge University Hospitals UK.
Dr Vivian was buried on 17 June 2016 at the Obiodu Country Home, Umuna Okigwe, Imo State Nigeria. A memorial celebration was also held on 11 June 2016 in Stevenage, UK.
